An enamel pin is a metal lapel pin with some kind of decorative enamel on it. The pins can be made of copper, bronze, iron, aluminum, etc. They are polished smooth and then the recessed areas of your design are filled with various types of enamel for decoration. The available enamel colors include hard enamel, soft cloisonné or soft enamel. The soft enamel pins can be covered with epoxy dome for protection. There are various rust proof plating colors available for customization, like shiny gold, antique copper, black nickel, modern rainbow and so on. Enamel pins are ideal for promotion or souvenirs contributing to the high cost-effective feature.

What are enamel pins used for?

How many types of enamel pins are there?

There are two main brackets that the lapel pins fall under, say soft enamel pins and hard enamel pins.

What’s the difference between soft enamel pins and hard enamel pins?

Soft enamel pins are cheaper, as the process costs less time than hard enamel pins, and hard enamel pins have to be hand polished, while soft enamel pins can be shock polished by machine. Meanwhile, the metal line of soft enamel pins is higher than the enamel colors, while the hard enamel pins have a smooth surface of metal line and enamel colors in the same level.
